    Abstract

Prenatal Classes constitute an important approach to improving maternal knowledge and health during pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care. However, in remote areas such as the Siriwini Community Health Center in Nabire Regency, Central Papua, pregnant women’s participation and understanding of maternal health remain limited. This community-based activity aimed to examine the effect of educational media on improving maternal knowledge and health among pregnant women. A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted involving 20 pregnant women. The intervention consisted of health education delivered through counseling sessions, group discussions, and demonstrations using visual educational media, including leaflets, booklets, and posters. The Wilcoxon test analysis showed a statistically significant increase in knowledge scores after the intervention (p < 0.001). These results indicate that the use of educational media has a positive effect on enhancing pregnant women’s knowledge and supporting maternal health. Continuous implementation of Prenatal Classes with family involvement and educational media tailored to participants’ characteristics is therefore recommended.
