Editorial Process

The Indonesian Journal of Sciences and Health (IJSAH) applies a structured and transparent editorial process to ensure that all published articles meet high standards of scientific quality, originality, and ethical integrity. This process is designed to maintain consistency, efficiency, and accountability from manuscript submission to final publication.

Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the IJSAH online submission system. All submissions must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, including formatting requirements, article structure, ethical statements, and completeness of submission metadata.

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening conducted by the editorial team. This screening aims to assess the manuscript’s relevance to the aims and scope of IJSAH, originality and scientific contribution, ethical compliance, clarity and quality of academic writing, and conformity with the journal’s author guidelines.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin). Plagiarism checks are conducted both before and after the peer review process to ensure originality and adherence to ethical publishing standards. Manuscripts found to contain unacceptable levels of similarity will be rejected and will not proceed to the review stage.

Pre-Review Editorial Decision

Based on the results of the initial screening, manuscripts may be accepted to proceed to the peer review stage, returned to authors for minor revisions (to be completed within two weeks), returned for major revisions (to be completed within a maximum of one month), or rejected if they do not meet the journal’s editorial and ethical standards.

Peer Review Assignment

Manuscripts that successfully pass the editorial screening are assigned to independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. The editorial team ensures that the review process is conducted objectively and in accordance with the journal’s peer review policy.

Editorial Decision and Revision

Based on reviewers’ evaluations and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editors make one of the following decisions: acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, major revisions required, or rejection. Authors are required to address all reviewer comments thoroughly and submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe.

Editorial Timeframe

The editorial process of IJSAH follows an estimated timeframe to ensure efficiency and transparency. Initial editorial screening generally takes 1–2 weeks. The peer review process typically requires 1–4 weeks, depending on reviewer availability. The duration of revision and final decision depends on the type of revision required.

Confidentiality and Editorial Responsibility

All manuscripts submitted to IJSAH are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality throughout the editorial and review process and must not use unpublished materials for personal or professional advantage. The editorial team is responsible for ensuring fair, unbiased, and ethical evaluation of all submissions.
